Trees are the arms and hands of Mother Earth

Growing in the sand, she spreads her arms across a bay in New Zealand

June 12th, 2009

The tree has continuity, which is a quality of Mother. Regardless of the child’s foibles the mother continues her work of love. Mother Earth gave us rocks – in all shapes, sizes, textures, colours, and densities. We thought we knew better and made concrete. We didn’t know better, and we don’t know better.

The cold is still on the soles of my feet – they feel bright and energised. Trees are the arms and hands of Mother Earth.

Mother Earth keeps giving and giving, she will give and give until she produces the last blade of grass. Let it not come to that.

May all the trees, of all the world, be loved and respected just as you are.
